I don't understand why pencils in classrooms are abused but I have also never come across a book written from their perspective. Really writing implements are marvelous tools. Recently my own five year old after two weeks of being back to school has taken to chewing on and breaking pencils! He has an amazing ability to empathize so the message of this book and the fun illustrations will be a great teaching point for us.

This was a super fun book that just came at the right time. On Monday I am teaching Kindergarten and I know that the students will love it. It will make them laugh but also realize the importance of taking care of their supplies. I hope to read more in this series too and add it to my SEL Learning.
